So I’ve been asked to write a little piece about the channel for someone and when doing that I went back to my first review to see what it was all about, and I wanted to share it with you guys for a reason…

If you’re thinking about starting something on YouTube (and it doesn’t have to be about vaping), but you want to share something with the world, or you want to focus on creating something positive to draw your attention away from depression or illness, or even just because you’re passionate about something and want to teach yourself new skills, setting yourself goals, and creating something in the digital world is something that I’ve personally found incredibly useful, challenging, and rewarding.

Hopefully seeing this video will show that you don’t have to come out of the gate being professional, or with expensive cameras, or even pricey products, just a will to make something and be able to ‘put yourself out there’ is enough.
For me, it’s helped with both physical (Ankylosing Spondylitis and Fibromyalgia) and mental challenges (depression) over the last couple of years, and to be honest without it times would have been a lot harder.

Any hobby costs money, and getting into reviewing or whatever to receive freebies will always end in disaster, but I’m more than happy to trade going out for a night getting drunk at the pub for buying something I can create something with, something to be proud of, something where I can set a goal and achieve it more often than not. The result may not be to everyone’s taste, but I’ll have done something I’m proud of, and that my friends – especially in harder times – is worth it’s weight in gold.

Recorded with the crappy laptop camera, and edited with free software, this is where it all began for me, and I hope in some way it inspires someone else to challenge themselves, create something, and be proud. Also, go and check out your favourite YouTubers and how they started, from small acorns do oak trees grow

Feel free to take the piss out of the shiney dome 😉

  1. Dean, greetings from across the pond, I just found your youtube channel thanks to Tony Band his latest video before he heads over to the UK and the huge vapor expo y’all have going on. I don’t know Tony personally, wish I did he is however a day or 2 drive from myself her in south Florida.
I se you mentioned that you have a couple of autoimmune diseases Ankylosing Spondylitis and Fibromyalgia. I too have a pair of autoimmune diseases, the 1st one is similar to Fibromyalgia, it is called RSD Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, actually they changed the name to CRPS Complex/Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome, it is a pain disease pure and simple, I call it a monster and it is. It is similar in some respects to Fibromyalgia as it affects your joints and what not, I’m not up to date on what the later stages of Fibro does to ones body or how it affects your organs. With RSD/CRPS it will once it has morphed into the latter stages affects your BP, pulse, liver, and kidney functions to name a couple.
The other disease I have is called Arachnoiditis, or Adhesive Arachnoiditis, what happens in this is the lining of the nerves becoming gummy, or sticky as it were. Before long you have a nerve sticking to another , to another, to another and so on. Before too much time passes it forms a knot a jumble of nerves all together, in my case in my case in my low back pressing on my spinal cord. I have not been able to sleep in a bed in over 4 years maybe 5 hard to say. If I do lay flat the next morning I am paralyzed from the waist down, the first time that happened it scared the shit outta me as you can well imagine.
I have had the RSD/CRPS for……um…27 going on 28 years, the Arachnoiditis I’ve had for 7 going on 8 years, I also have degenerative disk disease, arthritis, who doesn’t right and some major nerve damage in my low back and both legs. If….a big if, I had listened to my doctor I would be in a wheelchair by now, mainly due to the Arachnoiditis. I’m not don’t plan to be if I can help it. I am 60 years old hit the big 60 back in August this year, I am doing everything I can to stay on 2 legs, that said you know as well as I that there are some days that are better than others. These days are in no way shape or form akin to any bad day felt by ANY one else unless they too are battling these diseases.
A little background retired medically from the Army 100%, also medically retired law enforcement both as a police officer and as a corrections officer. I vape….a lot, I am a part time columnist for http://www.spinfuel.com it is an Emagazine they do nothing but vape products, mods, batteries, juices, etc. They are not given any of the products they review for free, everything they review the purchase with their own funds, so if a product is good they say so, if its….meh, then they say so, like wise if it is a shitty product they will definitely say its a piece of crap. They don’t get paid by Innokin, or Sigelei, or SMOK. They do not have a large staff, at most 10-12 with I think 5 or 6 paid staff writers, some regular unpaid writers and then they have folks like me who write weekly, monthly columns or whatever they are gonna write about. Me, I used to do a weekly column until I got sick, really sick about a year ago maybe 15 months ago. I have been having TIA’s or mini strokes which really messed me up still trying to overcome that but it will never go away. But, I am still above ground do what I can when I can, for as long as I can. The writing I’m just now getting back into its gonna be a reintroduction of Tim Timblin’s column Up in Vape,(loke the old Cheech & Chong movie Up in Smoke)! I kinda took that and changed it up ad my editor back when said it sounded great so….that is what I am.
Wish I could make it to the UK for the vapor expo, maybe if you come stateside to the Miami vapor expo, went last year, still recovering this year I’m hoping next year will be a go. I do apologize for rambling on like I have done, sometimes with my mind I don’t think I’m going as long or that I really didn’t write much, that and get me talking about my favorite subject vaping or the like and I can go for hours. Here I go, best had close this down now, Dean….I wish you well you did a great job on your 1st review, much better I think than I would do. Keep thinking on doing a video but chicken out at the end. Be well, stay safe, God bless, and….VAPE ON!
